Buckeye Roadhouse Introduces New Chef de Cuisine

Buckeye Roadhouse is pleased to introduce Joel Lamica as it’s new Chef de Cuisine. Lamica, a recognized rising star of the Bay Area Culinary scene is best known for his contemporary take on classic California flavors.

IMG_1247(1)A California Culinary Academy graduate of  2009, Lamica has since worked at the epicenter of some of the Bay area’s most happening culinary scenes.

His skill and culinary vision fueled his meteoric rise to the position of Sous-Chef at Bix in San Francisco’s financial District at the ripe old age of just 21.

With a taste for asian inspired flavors and a desire to create his own menu utilizing fresh, local ingredients, Lamica lead the re-launch of “Tigerlily” in Berkeley’s famous “Gourmet Ghetto”. Voted “Best New Restaurant” and “Best Chef” by East Bay Express 2015, Lamica was sighted as a “young chef with huge potential” by the Buckeye’s own Robert Price.

Spring inspired, wood grilled salmon with roasted beets, horseradish and  watercress creme fraiche.

Working alongside Buckeye’s executive chef, Robert Price, Lamica plans to breathe new life into a well-established collection of comfort food staples synonymous to the Buckeye Roadhouse brand. Harnessing a range of influences throughout his career, Lamica pairs edgy technique with established flavors.
